Kansas State finished the regular season with an OK performance against the Iowa State Cyclones. The Cyclones have a good offense, and have been playing much better as of late, so the game was close. The game was highlighted by senior night, and K-State honored the careers of Jacob Pullen and Curtis Kelly. Both players were emotional during the ceremony, Kelly in an interview commented on how K-State "saved his life." Pullen kissed the powercat at half court as he had played his last game at Bramledge coliseum. The Cats will play the winner of Iowa State and Colorado on Thursday 3pm EST, and if they when this game will have a chance to play KU on Friday night. Pullen is a unanimous 1st team all Big 12 selection. I thought he would win Player of the Year award, but Marcus Morris of KU edged him out. Look for K-State to be as high as a 4 seed in the NCAA tournament, if they can win a couple of games in the Big 12 tournament. Still on the rumor board, Wally Judge may be coming back next year to play for Frank Martin's Wildcats.
On to Football, K-State picked up a late edition on the defensive line, where they landed6'6" 290lb Bo Tillman, a Junior College transfer who chose K-State over Auburn. This is a good pick up for Coach Snyder, and should give the Cats some immediate help along the interior defensive line. Coach Snyder also picked up a commitment from a talented quarterback this weekend, when Tavarious Bender committed to play for Coach Snyder's Wildcats. The unusual thing about Bender's commitment is he comes from Bo Pelini's back yard, Lincoln Nebraska. So why doesn't Bender sign with NU, well maybe because NU is loaded with underclassmen quarterbacks. Bender is a good sized quarterback and fits what Coach Snyder likes in his quarterbacks, he is listed as 6'3" tall, weighs 210lbs, with a strong arm, and has 4.4 timed 40 yard dash. Bender says he has finished his recruitment and is "rock solid" with K-State. Lets hope this holds true, because the big colleges will surely come knocking on his door seeking his services, he is a very talented prospect. That's all from the Kstatetriot this week.
