Kstatetriot: Selection Sunday

The Cats are in the tournament.  I thought the Cats would be a 6 seed and they are a 5 seed.  K-State plays Utah State, this is a good basketball team, the Cats will have to be sharp if they are going to win.  If they come out and play like they did against Colorado, the Cats could be beat by Utah State.  The key for the the Cats is their defense.  If they bring their defense the Cats should win this one.  I can't believe Colorado didn't make the field, wow, that is a shocker.  If the Cats can get by their first game, look for them to do well in the tournament.  From the rumor board, Coach Martin's name has been mentioned in some coaching vacancies, the latest one is Arkansas.  Arkansas feels coach Martin is theirs if they offer him.  I'm not so sure about that Arkansas.  I don't see coach Martin going to Arkansas, he'll be loyal to K-State on this one.

On to Football, where there is not much going on these days, we will get more stories as soon as they start spring practice.  It looks like the players won't be able to Tweet this season.  Coach was not happy with a couple of players who sent out some controversial tweets, so that privilege will be gone.  From my point of view, the Cats should be quicker on the defensive side this year, but I think a couple of freshman will see considerable playing time.  My guess is freshman Hunter Davis and Ian Seau, at defensive end could see some playing time, both have decent size and speed to play.  Last year we were thin in numbers on defense and especially on the defensive line,   We can thank Coach Prince for our lack of numbers last year, remember the 19 junior college kids he signed, that is why we were short on player numbers, it was almost like K-State was on some kinda of probation by the player numbers we have.  That's all from the Kstatetriot this week, don't forget to cheer on the cats at the tournament starting this Thursday.
