After watching K-State lose by decision to CU, btw I attended that game, and the CU fans were considerate. I've heard a lot of rumors about poor treatment from CU fans, but I haven't experience it. As for the basketball team you aren't going to win to many games where you shoot 29% from the field and 50% from the line. If the referees would have reviewed the clock 1.3 seconds left (and they reviewed every other play) they would have changed it to 1.5 seconds left. Then Rodney McGruder shot counts and K-State wins by 1.
On to the good news! I have to admit I didn't expect K-State to play well on Saturday against the Evil Jayhawks but they did. I didn't expect to have a fairly called game, with KU's favorite referee (Higgins) doing the game, but the game was evenly called. The reason I call Higgins, KU's favorite referee is because KU AD gave Higgins special tickets to the NCAA tournament. That should be against all rules, but nothing became of the it, but I think it is poor judgement on Higgins part to accept the tickets or should we say bribe. As for the game, K-State play their best game of the year, and KU could not get in the game. Give credit to the K-State students they were great, KU seemed shaken by the crowd, and K-States play. Congratulations to Jake Pullen who will write his name forever in Wildcats fan's memories. I have no problem with KSU fans rushing the floor, if they want let them, I think the students earned that. Wildcat fans all over the state of Kansas can enjoy this victory. As for KU fans they seem content to complain that K-State has a DVD of the game available for purchase. BTW KU fans K-State makes DVD's of EVERY game K-State plays.
Congratulations to Doc Satler for doing something Bo Pelini hasn't been able to do. Beat a very good Texas team. Wait a minute... Bo Pelini hasn't beat a poor Texas team yet. Sorry NU fans I couldn't resist. I have a lot of respect for Doc Satler and I hope he gets NU into the NCAA tournament, however I hope they lose Wednesday to the Wildcats, I'm not a fan of Pelini, ever since he was SO disrespectful to Coach Snyder after KSU beat NU 38-9 saying that Coach Snyder "ran up the score on NU" you gotta to be kidding me. Tom Osborne NEVER would have done anything like that.
As for Football, Rivals has ranked KSU's recruiting class dead last in the big 12. Hmm, we'll see, we'll see. Remember K-State fans in "Snyder We Trust". I think K-State did a nice job of adding speed to almost every position, and especially on defense, where we needed it the most. You never know what kind of recruiting class you have until a couple of years down the road. Expect K-State to pick up a couple of late recruits, probably a transfer or a JC guy. I don't haven't any facts, just a hunch.
On the lighter side, Eric Stonestreet has been doing his part to give KSU a lot of love. He has been appearing on every talk show, wearing KSU gear and cheering on the Cats. Eric graduated in 1996 and is a star on the sitcom "Modern Family". If you get a chance, make sure you support Eric and watch his show, it very funny. That's all for now, and don't forget to root for the cats this week against NU on the road, and MU at home.
